Polykon 2027: Charlotte, NC
POLYKON 2027
Since 2024, the PolyMedia crew has gotten together in some city in some state for a long weekend of hanging out. It's a good way to share air and space with the people who watch, listen, and support what we create, who we interact with on a daily basis, and who we consider some of our best friends. We've made many good memories over the years and established some fun traditions already. We call it a “Con” (or “Kon” in PolyKill speak), but there are really no strict agendas, or panels, or convention center or anything like that. It's just your friends in a house with you.
In 2027, we're bringing the whole shebang down to Charlotte, North Carolina.
Why Charlotte?
Every other year, Briz and I like to have a location we can drive to. In 2025 it was Pittsburgh and in 2027 it will be Charlotte. This allows us to bring extra equipment for extra fun like live music, more gaming, and whatever else we can feasibly think of and haul.
The Digs
We've reserved a spacious private property that, as you can probably tell from the pictures, is commonly used as a wedding venue. But the only marriage happening at PolyKon will be the bond we form with Burgerchamp's dining menu.
The house is complete with large, shared living spaces, a large kitchen, outdoor gathering areas, a fire pit, and accommodations for up to 20 overnight guests (including one reserved spot for Trav).
In the event interest exceeds 20, do not worry. We have access to a second, nearby home that sleeps 13 more people. That means we could accommodate up to 33 overnight guests this year. With that much potential attendance, we've had to institute a more formal registration process. We hope you understand.
Registration & Lodging
Thanks to your support of our Patreon, we're able to keep lodging costs relatively low for everyone.
The prices shown here are lodging costs for the entire weekend (not per night). Meal costs will be calculated separately and can be paid at the event itself, depending on which meals you elect to devour.
If you commit early you can lock in the lowest lodging rate.
Available while space remains in our main house.
Helps cover additional lodging if we need the neighboring property.
If the main-house capacity fills before March 15, expansion registration may open earlier. Additional lodging is conditional until the second property has been booked.
These lodging prices do not include food, transportation, or optional activities. Cost for meals made by PolyMedia culinary experts (see: Burgerchamp) will be tallied when on location. You will pay during the stay for those meals. Everyone pays the full three-night lodging rate, even for a shorter stay.
Secure Your Spot
- $50 per overnight guest holds your rate once payment has been received and verified. It counts toward your lodging total, or you can pay the full amount upfront.
- Cancel before March 15, 2027? Lodging payments are refundable.
- Starting March 15: Lodging payments are generally nonrefundable because there's not much time left to fill an empty spot (and unfortunately, we'll have to keep your sweet, sweet cash).
- If someone replaces you and pays for the spot, we'll refund what you've paid. In a catastrophic life emergency, we may be able to work something out. Applicable legal refund rights still apply.
- If we can't secure the second house, conditional expansion lodging payments will be refunded in full. Refunds are processed manually through the payment service.
- Pay and report it within 48 hours of submitting your form. We verify payment manually; filling out the form alone does not reserve a bed.
Staying Somewhere Else?
That's no problem! You're welcome to register for PolyKon even if you're arranging your own accommodations.
We still need to know who's coming so we can better plan meals, activities, and space for everyone. Off-site attendance is subject to the host's guest limits and house rules.
